West Oxfordshire District Council is one of the main players in the Community Safety Partnership.

Although crime reduction is often associated with the police, other local bodies have responsibilities and an important role to play.

The Community Safety Team, based at the District Council offices, consists of Council and Thames Valley Police employees working together to make local communities safer.

The team works closely with the Council's Licensing Department, Environmental Crime Officers and Community Wardens.

District Councillor Verena Hunt is the Cabinet Member for Community Safety.
