Crime prevention begins at home!

Crime prevention is pivotal to the work of the Community Safety Partnership. We regularly give crime reduction advice to residents through our roadshows, community group talks and work with the local press.

Crime Reduction Adviser

Bill Butcher is the local Crime Reduction Adviser. He offers free home security surveys and often gives crime reduction talks to various groups. You can contact Bill for advice on 01993 861638.

Raising Awareness

Anti-social behaviour, domestic violence, home and car security, rural crime, drugs and alcohol are just some of the issues we tackle.

The Partnership regularly launches crime reduction initiatives to raise awareness of specific issues. For further information please visit the relevant pages on this site.

Cut price anti-burglar kits for sale!

Crime figures show that 80% of burglaries are committed by opportunists taking advantage of open windows and doors, and keys left in insecure places.

The Partnership has DNA property marking kits for sale.

The Selecta DNA kits, which can be used to mark all types of items, from war medals, jewellery and pictures to passports and birth certificates, are being sold for £15 (retail price £49).

The kits have a unique solution which can only be viewed with an ultra-violet lamp. Marked items can be registered on a national database held by police which can be checked if items are found after being stolen. Stickers are provided in the kit to display to deter potential burglars.

To purchase one of the kits please call Bill Butcher on 01993 861638 or email community.services@westoxon.co.uk
