Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to incidents of cable theft in north and west Oxfordshire.

At around 8pm on Thursday 19 January offenders broke into a telephone exchange in South Side, Steeple Aston and stole copper wire.

Sometime between Tuesday 10th and Tuesday 24th January cable was also stolen from a telephone exchange in Banbury Road, Tackley.

Between 6pm on Friday 20 January and 7.50am on Saturday 21 January offenders broke into Shipton Quarry, Bunkers Hill and stole electricity cables.

Det Insp Steve Duffy said: "We are investigating these three incidents and we have made some good progress. We are aware that the thefts have caused a lot of disruption to the local communities and that some residents are without a phone service at this time.
